Yes, 100%, doctors should be taught about asexuality so that they don’t misdiagnosis someone and they should be encouraged to present that as a reason to someone coming in and seeking help. At the same time, a doctor saying “let’s check your hormones and look to see if there are other underlying causes” isn’t oppression. There are so many instances where a lack of interest in sex is due to anxiety, depresssion, illness, injury, or other medical concerns.
HSDD is, in fact, not diagnosticable on asexual people.
HSDD is, in fact, only diagnosticable on people whose lack of sexual attraction/libido causes marked distress. And this is something that has been repeatedly told to inclusionists.
Now, if an asexual person’s asexuality is a cause of distress for them, then the problem isnt HSDD and maaaaaybe its on the ace community’s “your sex-related trauma/illness means YOU.ARE.ACE!” anti-recovery mentality.
